The Roots & Leaves

Why I Started Little Jungle

After spending over a decade in the plant and garden center world and watching people leave garden centers excited about their new plants, only to return weeks later with a crispy brown mystery, I realized something: people don't need more plants—they need plant support. Thriving greenery requires the right conditions, consistent care, and someone who actually knows the difference between root rot and under watering.

Little Jungle Plant Company exists because everyone deserves to live surrounded by thriving plants without the stress, guesswork, or guilt. Whether you're a seasoned plant collector or nervously eyeing your first pothos, we're here to make sure your jungle thrives.

What Makes us Different

  • 🌿 Real-world experience: I've worked retail plant sales, managed inventory, diagnosed thousands of plant problems, and yes, dealt with my fair share of spider mites.
  • 🌱 Tailored DC expertise: I know this city's microclimates, light challenges, and humidity swings. Your Capitol Hill row house is different from a Logan Circle condo—and we plan accordingly.
  • 💚 No judgment, ever: Killed a cactus? I've been there. Overwatered a succulent? Also been there. We're all learning.  Green thumbs are earned from killing a lot of plants and learning from those experiences
  • 🪴 Plant Nerds Who Speak Human: The plant world can sometimes feel overwhelming.  With years of plant troubleshooting, I'm really good at finding creative solutions that actually work in real life and we communicate in plain English. No gatekeeping, just good advice.

When I'm Not Plant-Parenting

You'll find me tending my own ever-expanding home garden (current count: too many to admit), hunting for rare plant finds at local nurseries, or probably repotting something that doesn't technically need it yet. I'm also known to geek out over soil amendments, debate the best grow lights, and chilling out on a paddleboard (well, maybe not this season)

Let's Grow Together

Whether you need someone to rescue your struggling plant collection, style your space into an urban oasis, or simply answer the question "Why are the leaves turning yellow?"—I'm here for it.
